
Aim of the course
Health and Safety is the subject of many laws and regulations in the UK, failure to comply with the law renders companies and/or individuals liable to prosecution. Being aware of Health and Safety is important within the workplace because it protects the staff and customers and ensures the reputation of the business is kept well.
Course Content
This one-day course is designed to develop the delegate’s knowledge of understanding the potential hazards that can occur whilst working on a construction site. The course provides a practical and theoretical summary of health, safety, welfare and environmental issues and identifies the delegate’s responsibility. The course will cover the following:
- Need to prevent accidents
- Health and safety law
- How the role fits into the control and management of the site
- Risk assessments and method statements
- Performing safely and asking for advice
- Reporting unsafe acts to prevent an accident
Who should take this course?
Our CITB Health and Safety Awareness (HSA) course is designed for those who have entered or are about to enter the construction and civil engineering industry as a member of the workforce, to help them understand the potential hazards that they face at work on site. This course is a requirement along with the touch screen test in order to obtain the CITB Green Labourers Card.
Qualification
To undertake this course, there is no preparation needed and all successful delegates will receive an up to date Site Safety Plus Certificate valid for 5 years. Successful Delegates may also choose to progress to either a 2 Day Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) training course or 5 Day Site Manager Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) training course depending on job role.
